I'm married to Napolean Dynamite.

My adorable husband lost his Chapstick.  Ever since the cold snap hit, he's been complaining that his "lips hurt real bad".  Hmm...  I seem to remember a certain liger fan saying those exact words...

I have offered, on numerous occasions, to let him use my Bonne Belle Lipsmackers, but he refuses to wear anything that will tint his lips.  (I betcha if I offered him a pair of moon boots and tots, he'd be all over that!  Ha!)  Does anyone else still use Lipsmackers, or am I the only 12 year old trapped inside a grown-up's body?

So, while at the grocery store the other day, I decided to solve Napolean's my husband's parched pout problem by buying him a new tube of Chapstick.  They were all out, but they did have Blistex's Deep Renewal Lip Treatment.  The husband had nothing but good things to say about it, so I decided to give it a whirl.  It's definitely emollient and moisturizing.  Smooth, but not greasy or waxy.  My only complaint is I'm not 100% sure I like the scent.  The good thing is, it's a very faint smell that you really only notice upon initial application.

Oh, well.  All that really matters is the fact that the man of the household's kisser doesn't "hurt real bad" anymore.  ;)

My personal favorite remedy for bloody (my lips get dried very easily and I peel them at the end of semester because of stree) parchy lips is a very thick clear gloss applied overnight, it works better applied right after shower. I doubt your husband would let you do that to him though...

Lovely !

My husband likes the NYX round glosses ;) he puts some before going to bed ;) He doesn't want anyone to see his «sorbet sparkle» side !

Citrine - That sucks your lips get so dried out! Yeah, I dunno if my husband would let me put gloss on him. LOL! Maybe I can put it on him after he falls asleep. (Wow. That sounded almost creepy. LOL!) He sometimes uses Aquaphor if his lips feel dry. Thanks for the tip! :)

Dominique - I love that your hubby uses NYX products! There's nothing wrong with a man that sparkles. Look at Edward Cullen! LOL!

Hi! The lipsmackers look very cute!

I am usually too lazy to put on any lip balm even when my lips are very very parched.

I should probably try to. Haha.

bowsnhearts - Your SN is so cute! It's funny that you don't put lip balm on, even when your lips are in need of it. LOL! I get lazy about things, too! For some reason, I get impatient when putting mascara on. Sometimes I just do a few sweeps on each eye.

Thank you for leaving me a comment! :)

Nee - I think middle school is probably when most normal people gave up Lipsmackers. I'm just a weirdo. LOL! After Sean runs out of the Blistex, I'm gonna pick up the Nivea stuff you use and give it a try! :)

Monika - Berry Peach smells great, doesn't it? I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who wears Lipsmackers (that is an adult)! :)

Monika - Raspberry is actually one of my favorites! I like strawberry, mango, kiwi, tropical punch, and pink lemonade, too. LOL!

lol I love Napolen Dynamite. In my experience blistex is way better than chapstick. Chapstick has artificial moisturizer that mkaes you think its moisturizing your lips but then you feel the need of applying it all the time which shows that it doesnt work.

I also can't belive you offered him your pink lip smacker lol that is soo funny!

thanks for stopping by and commenting :)

Napoleon Dynamite is awesome! I would have voted for Pedro if I had gone to school with him. LOL!

Wow... I didn't know Chapstick had artificial moisturizer! That's good to know! I'll have to pass that along to my husband.

Yeah, I thought I was being helpful when I offered to let him use my Lipsmackers. He looked at me like I had lost my mind. Ha!

Thanks for commenting on my little ol' page! :)

LoL! I had a HUGE Dr. Pepper Lip Smacker that I think I tossed recently. I had a not so great experience with the Blistex Deep Renewal...it made my lips worse! I'm not a fan of Blistex and the weird scent/taste they have. My all time fave...Natural Ice Cherry Lip Balm!

Rhondalei - I've seen those giant Lipsmackers and have always wanted to get one. LOL! I can't believe the Blistex made your mouth worse! That sucks! I don't like the smell of Blistex either. This one smells funny... Like lemons and spearmint? Blech. Where do you get Natural Ice products?
