Eye Candy

I had no idea Ivanka Trump had her own jewelry line!

 [Source]

Where have I been?!

 [Source]

Ha ha!

Her collections are beautiful.  I loved all of her pieces, especially her rings!

I like how bold - yet delicate - these cocktail rings are!

This dainty band is elegant and timeless.
In addition to the pretty baubles shown above, I found myself drawn to her red carpet-ready earrings.

Sadly, these beautiful Trump-designed pieces are accompanied by Trump price tags.  There's no harm in looking, though, right?  ;)

I hope you're all having a wonderful holiday season!

Your face!

"Your face!" is the ultimate comeback.  And by "ultimate", I mean, most immature.  However, the fact that it's an extremely juvenile phrase does not stop my friend, Maria, and I from using it.  Often.

After we graduated from college, Maria found a position working alongside an orthopedic surgeon.  I later got hired on at the same clinic.  During orientation, our trainer asked that we new hires open our e-mail.  To my surprise, I noticed I already had a message.  What exactly did I find in my inbox?  An e-mail, sent by Maria.  It simply said: "YOUR FACE!!!!"  Childish?  Yes.  Hilarious to us, and only us?  Probably.

Speaking of faces, one of the most frequently asked questions I get is: "Why don't you ever show your face?"  When I first began blogging, I wanted my posts to be about my writing -- and not so much about me.  However, after multiple requests to show y'all more photographs of my mug, I caved in.

Here goes...

Aww...  This is the first picture I ever posted on Blogger.  You've got to love the fact it's blatantly clear I took this photo myself.  How MySpace of me.

Speaking of MySpace, if you have yet to view this video, you must check it out!  It literally makes me laugh out loud whenever I watch it.

Please note that YouTube frequently removes this video from their site as it violates their terms of use.  If the embedded clip does not work, I apologize in advance!

This is my Blogger, YouTube, and Twitter thumbnail picture.  It was cropped because I wasn't wearing any pants.  That's just how I roll.  Going sans your bottom half in public places, such as church, is entirely appropriate in my book.  I'M KIDDING.  I was actually sporting plaid pajama shorts instead of pants.  Ha!

A very wise man once said: "Holy crip, it's a crapple!"  (Kudos to you if you recognize where that quote originates from!)  Here is a picture of me in all my crapple glory.  For a period of time, I had the "luxury" of owning a handicapped parking pass.  I was trying to take a photograph next to a handicapped parking sign, but our camera was not cooperating.  I look like Vanna White, but crapple-ier.

P. S.  I typically only wear this dress to the beach, as I find it's a bit too low cut to wear in any other setting.  However, it was scorching hot that day!

Mail order brides are the best!  (Oh, simmer down...  I'm joking!)

This picture was taken on August 17, 2003.   My family, friends, and I had just completed pre-wedding professional photographs.  After an hour or so of posing and smiling, my cream puff of a dress and I needed a quick break.  (A few miles away, my adorably hubby was getting ready with the boys at the wedding site.  We decided to wed the traditional way; he did not see me in my gown until I walked down the aisle.)

My wedding day was truly the best and most beautiful day of my entire life.  ♥  My heart and head knew immediately after meeting my husband (back in 1999!) that he was The One.  The night before the big day, my little sisters and I gorged on junk food and relaxed in my honeymoon suite.  My stomach full of overpriced hotel pizza, I drifted off to sleep peacefully.  The next morning, I awoke well-rested and found I wasn't nervous at all.  I was giddy, madly in love with my best friend, and beyond happy.  The day was a blur, but a magnificent one.

He's still The One and always will be.

That's all for now!  I hope you all have a wonderful week!

DSK Jewelry Co.

Stephanie Nguyen, the creative genius behind DSK Jewelry Co., is best known for her brilliant Swarovski baubles.  She has an eye for fashion and beauty, and is always surprising her customers with new and innovative pieces.  Steph also possesses the technical skills and business saavy required to be successful in her field.  Watch out, y'all...  She is unstoppable!

In addition to being a successful entrepreneur, Steph is a complete sweetheart.  She was one of the first to welcome me into the crazy world of beauty blogging.  Lengthy e-mails flew back and forth between us, and, before I knew it, a true friendship developed.  When Steph asked me to be a part of the DSK Family, I was overwhelmed and honored.  It is an honor to represent a company I respect and believe in.  But, first and foremost, it's important that I support my friend.

I recently received the following gems from Miss Steph...  Get ready for some serious eye candy!

Although the majority of DSK Jewelry is made with blingin' Swarovski crystals, Steph also crafts gorgeous cubic zirconia pieces.  These pretty heart shaped babies are substantial, well made, and very eye catching.

These stunning cubic zirconia earrings are chic, sizeable, and sparkle more than any CZs I have ever laid eyes on.  They make for a perfect accompaniment to any little black dress.  (Actually, they're so versatile, they'd compliment any dress!)  These are my favorite!

Cats and pearls are two of my favorite things.  This precious pair is absolutely darling!

This stunning necklace is girly and rocker tough at the same time.  The Swarovski crystal, silver wing, and delicate sterling chain have a nice weight to them and really compliment one another.

One word: Gorgeous.

Last, but not least, I also received these petite heart shaped sparklers.  When placed next to the rocker necklace, I think they look especially sweet.  As with the other CZ earrings, I find they are of high quality and absolutely radiant.

Photos of me wearing these pieces are coming soon!  (Yes, you will get to see my whole face again.  Shocking, I know!  Ha!)

Thank you again, Steph.  You are the best!

My Etsy Wish List

If you are looking for a unique and handmade treasure, I highly recommend you head over to Etsy.com.  I have been a fan of Etsy for years, and am pleased to see the recent influx of YouTubers and Bloggers promoting the website.  Having grown up surrounded by entrepreneurs, I am all about supporting home based businesses.

After a recent "online window shopping excursion", I found three stores of interest that I thought I would share with you.  I have yet to purchase from any of them, but based on all of the positive feedback I skimmed through, I definitely will be in the future.

Original Tableaux by Nateara Barabas

When my adorable husband and I were in our late teens, we proudly displayed a matted and framed picture of cigar-smoking dogs playing poker in our home.  (Yes, folks...  We felt this "masterpiece" was worthy of not only a frame, but a mat as well.  Ha!)  We thought it was hilarious, thus making us hilarious for owning it.  Fortunately, our taste in decor has since evolved into something a little less...  caninepokeresque.

Although I appreciate all kinds of art, my eyes are always drawn to abstract pieces like the ones created by Russian artist, Nateara Barabas.  These amazing canvases give off a modern, urban vibe that would fit nicely into our home.  The flowers are feminine, but the deep, rich colors anchor the pieces, making them appealing to both men and women.  My husband and I absolutely love them!

The Ivory Magnolia by Dedra Harvin

Having satiny smooth and deliciously scented skin is of utmost importance to me.  Products, such as the ones sold at Dedra Harvin's Etsy shop, make my heart flutter.  Candied Blueberries, Pink Cotton Candy, and Blue Coconut Cream are just a few of her delightful scents.

When I wrote to Dedra (a.k.a. Dee), requesting permission to use her photographs for this post, she responded immediately.  Her warmth and kindness could be felt through her words, which is such a rarity these days.  Creamy, whipped, and looking downright edible, Dee's sweetly fragranced confections are a hit with her customers.  It's no wonder she has 100% positive feedback!

This month, all of The Ivory Magnolia's watermelon scented goodies are 15% off.  How cute is her watermelon soap?

NYLightMetals by Regina Pierallini

"If a man who cannot count finds a four-leaf clover, is he lucky?" - S. Lec

As some of you know, my hubby and family are Irish, so I feel a special connection to Ireland and its people.  For the past year, I have been on the hunt for clover shaped jewelry.  There is something so elegant and timeless about the four leaf design.  Unfortunately, the collections I have been swooning over cost more than I currently have in my piggy bank.  You can imagine my delight when I discovered Regina Pierallini's wallet friendly necklaces.

These are some of my must-have pieces for the Summer:

How great would these necklaces go with a cute summer dress?

Regina's store offers something for nearly everyone: pretty vintage baubles, sparkling jewels fit for a bride, cheerful candy-colored adornments, and more.  If she doesn't have exactly what you're looking for, do not hesitate to send her a message as she may be able to create a custom piece for you.

Check out Regina's Etsy store here, her website here, and be sure to tell her I said hello!  She is a complete doll!

Now if only I could find someone to make me a grill...  I need to have my people to call L'il Wayne's people.  Ha!

Have a great day, everyone!
