Caramels, Chocolate Lip Balm, & Cherry Culture... Oh my!

Last night, my adorable husband surprised me with an early Christmas gift...  Fran's Salted Caramels!  I almost lost it, I was so excited!  I read about these chocolate and salt covered caramels over a year ago, and have been going crazy wanting to try them.  Word on the streets is President Obama has these flown in to him.  Good enough for the leader of our country?  Good enough for me!  LOL!  Believe it or not, I'd rather receive treats than jewelry or any other gift.  Crazy talk, I know.  I am hardcore candy and baked goods addict!

In addition to the delicious caramels, my husband also got me Sweet Beauty's Organic Chocolate Lip Confection Balm to review.  It smells like it should be edible and has a creamy consistency.  The packaging is really cute; definitely more grown up in appearance than the Lipsmackers I usually tote around!  It's not as long-lasting as some of the other balms I own, but perhaps that's due to my scarfing down a box of caramel goodness and nachos after applying it.  ;)

♥  THANK YOU SO MUCH, HUSBAND!  ♥

In other food-related news, Cherry Culture is offering 20% off all orders until December 27th!  (Get it?  Food-related?  Cherry Culture?  I'm SO clever!)

****  UPDATE  ****

12/23/2009 - I am loving this lip balm!  I don't have to re-apply it very often after all, which is nice.

I've learned my lesson...  No more reviews until I've used a product for more than fifteen minutes.  ;)

Thanks for the CC code :)

Hey, D!

Oh, man... I always tell bad, cheesy jokes. When I was in school, my classmate would actually make a "wah, wah, waaaah" when my cracks would bomb. LOL!

You're welcome for the code! I think I'm going to start posting discount codes as I find them. Who doesn't love a sale?

Thank you for commenting on my blog =) The korres lip butter is seriously AMAZING! I'm not joking, I really love everything about it and highly recommend it. It makes my lips softer than anything else i've ever tried. The wipes, on the other hand, are just ok. They do smell nice, but they are really dry. I don't think i will be re-purchasing them after I use them all up. I'm happy you enjoyed my post!

Beautygirl24 - You're welcome! That lip butter looks and sounds so fancy! I'd FEEL fancy pulling it out of my purse! LOL! Bummer about the pomegranate wipes... It doesn't matter how great something smells; if it doesn't work, it's not worth it! Thanks for the heads up! :)

Thanks! I love it in Seattle. Me and the family come over here pretty often since we're just on the other side of the border :)

And how sweet is your hubby?

Kate Gene said...

Makeup Mama - That's awesome you come to Seattle on a regular basis. Did you see the lights on 5th? So pretty!

My husband is very sweet and thoughtful. I love him more than words could ever say! :)

Your hubby is so sweet! care to share? hehe

Kate Gene said...

Nee - LOL! You can borrow him when he's playing video games. ;) (Actually, he's good about talking/listening/playing, unless he's playing Call of Duty. Then he has to be 100% focused. Ha ha!)

Kate Gene said...

J-ezzy - I hear that cricket sound a lot. It's usually accompanied by weird looks or a delayed courtesy laugh. Ha ha ha!

I ♥ my hubby. He's a good one. :)

Merry Christmas to you, too!

Errr, that's the story of my life! I can't tell a joke for the life of me (seriously...). My lil bro and sis would always exclude me from stuff b/c I wasn't funny, ROFL

Thanks!!

Kate Gene said...

LMAO!!!! That's when you pull the big sister card and make them clean your room or something. LOL!

J-ezzy said...

Yes, and you KNOW I pulled it! Hence why they hated me sometimes, LOL!!!

Kate Gene said...

J-ezzy - LOL! Oh, the things we do as kids... I used to kick my sisters if they refused to do things, like make me food. Gawd, I was evil!!!!

J-ezzy said...

pahahahaaha, they'd put dirt in my food, I never let them feed me, LMBO! (I threw hangers and combs at em...and once threw away their favorite doll, it was the Home Depot Mascot called Homer, they still don't forgive me for it =/)

Kate Gene said...

Hangers and combs? LMAO! Metal hangers or plastic? Those metal ones have a sharp hook! Ha ha!

I once "allegedly" sprayed my sister in the face with Windex. My lawyer has advised me to not comment on the topic. Ha ha ha!

P. S. Home Depot has a mascot?! Where have I been?!

J-ezzy said...

Yes, I think I threw the metal ones down the stairs once. "/ eeek, I hope I'm not a bad mother! Pahaha, poor sister :)

Yeah, I know, Home Depot has a mascot!! I think deep down I was jealous I wasn't a part of taking him apart and drawing on him to make him more human...you don't wanna know what they did to the back of him :x I'll let you use your imagination!

Kate Gene said...

LMBO! Well, abusing your younger siblings is part of the big sister job. Both of my sisters are taller and stronger than me now, so I definitely wouldn't try to push them around now. Ha ha!

You know what? I DO remember seeing the Home Depot mascot on ads and stuff! I had no idea there was a doll though.

I LITERALLY LAUGHED OUT LOUD when I read what you said about what your siblings drew on the back of the Home Depot doll. OMG, OMG, OMG!!!! HA HA HA!!!!

J-ezzy said...

I'll give your imagination one more hint, there was a hole...lol

Yeah...all my siblings are like 10 ft taller than me (I'm 5 feet tall...it's not hard to be taller than me and to be honest, I don't think I hit 5 feet at all...rofl).

I was at Home Depot all the time :)

Kate Gene said...

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG! I just about pooped me pants. (A function that, apparently, Mr. Home Depot can do. Pwhahaha!)

I'm barely 5'1, so I feel your pain! LOL!

lmbo! you are a riot!!!!
