Move over, Kleenex! Ski masks are where it's at!

Just the other day, I was hovering over our bathroom counter, smoking out my left eye with one of my favorite loose shadows.  I had a tissue protecting my cheek and was carefully patting it on, layer by layer.  When I finally stepped away from the mirror to examine my handiwork, I saw that my lid was shimmery and grey -- and so was the bridge of my nose and forehead.  I looked like a hot mess.  Screw tissues...  I need to start wearing ski masks to protect the rest of my face!

If I'm going to look creepy, I want to at least have a cute purple mask like this:

I have viewed countless videos on applying loose shadow, yet more often than not, I end up making a mess of myself.  I stumbled across this video this morning and found it quite interesting...

Have any of you tried this trick?

Woah! I've never heard of this trick. And also am sceptical since vaseline is sooo greasy. But hey, it's worth a shot.

Not so sure about no creasing...how could something so greasy will hold the pigments on ? I'm septical, but i will give it a try...

lmao i hate when that happens and i can tell we all have the same problem lol

Interesting..I don't know about the vaseline...seems like any contact would result in a huge smudge!

Gigi - It IS greasy! I'm going to at least give it a shot, too. It'd be great if it actually works! I might play around with it today...

Hollywood - Ha ha! My husband would probably love it if I stayed nekkid until I finished my make-up! XD (I'd get too cold. I have to wear a robe at least. LOL!)

ting RN - I used to be able to put my eye products on last with no problems. I don't know what happened! Maybe I'm being too aggressive with my shadow. LOL! Lemme know if you try this trick!

bananas. - I'm starting to think we all need ski masks! We can look creepy together. Bahahaha! It's weird, because ultimately pressed shadow becomes loose shadow when you pick it up with your brush; what gives?

Dominique - Let me know if it works! I'm going to try it, too. The gal in the video makes it sound pretty easy; I'm willing to give it a shot! Who knows? Maybe Vaseline will take over UDPP's spot as the #1 primer! XD I'm definitely skeptical, too. We shall see...

Meya - Someone in the make-up industry needs to come to our rescue! LOL! I love my loose shadows and would wear them more often if they didn't fly all over my face (and bathroom). Oy vay!

PetiteAsianGirl - I didn't even think about that!!!! You're absolutely right! And then you'd have a big spot of nothing on your eye lid. Oooh... :/ I guess you'd just have to be super careful when using it as a primer? I don't like to think about my make-up after it's been applied, though.

Jen - That's interesting! That seems like it'd work, actually because of the consistency. I wonder if it'd give me milia, though... I'm so paranoid about using things on and around my eyes that aren't meant to be there. It took me ages to get rid of two milia I had! Gross!

When I pat my loose shadows instead of swipping it on the lids, almost nothing falls!

LOL a ski mask! That is actually a really good idea! I have the exact same problem!!! And of course I never realise until the minute I'm about to step out the door and do a quick check of my makeup in the mirror on my way out! Grr!

Thanks so much for featuring my video! As long as you just use the teeniest tiniest amount it doesn't crease and it keeps your shadow looking fresh all day.

PrincessPinkcat - You're very welcome! I was so surprised when I learned that Vaseline could be used as a base. Anything that helps my loose shadows stick is A-OK in my book! :)
