It's Hip to Be Square.

One evening, after an especially laborious day at the office, I quickly gathered my belongings and hit the road.  I couldn't wait to throw on some sweats, watch plenty of mindless television, and sip on some chilled bubbly.  My adorable husband greeted me at the door, at which point I began to vent.  In the midst of my frustration, I opened the fridge and whipped out a bottle of the good stuff.  One sip later, I was instantly relaxed.  My hubby started rolling on the floor, laughing.  Why?

Because I had turned to Martinelli's Sparkling Cider to unwind.  Ha!

Don't get me wrong...  A night of booze-induced dancing and karaoke at a hole-in-the-wall bar can be ridiculously fun.  Serve me a few glasses of liquid courage, and I'll show you why the running man should be banned.  (All right, I admit it.  I'll do the running man sober.)

[I may appear to have a stick up my arse, but I assure you, I don't.  I had it surgically removed years ago.]

At my little sister's 26th birthday BBQ, my parents served us Champagne Lemon Drops.

OH.  EM.  GEE.

Champagne Lemon Drops are where it's at!  I drink maybe a few times a year.  However, these suckers might just turn me into an alcoholic.  I know this is a beauty blog, but this recipe is too good to keep to myself.

This recipe is courtesy of The Food Network's Sandra Lee:

Ingredients

  • 1 (12-ounce) can lemonade frozen concentrate, thawed
  • 1 bottle extra-dry Champagne
  • 1 1/2 cups sparkling water
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup lemon drop candies, crushed

Directions

In a pitcher, stir to combine lemonade concentrate, Champagne, and sparkling water. Using a slice of lemon, moisten the rim of each glass. Dip rim into crushed lemon drop candies. Pour in the Champagne mixture and garnish with sliced lemons.

Cheers to all the ladies who sent their support after reading my hater post!  (Seriously, thank you...  I was overwhelmed by the response I got!)

Nicoletta - I am an enabler! XD Wine sounds good, too. Riesling is my favorite. My hubby says riesling is "rookie wine". LOL!
